2009 Volleyball Hall of Fame Classic

HOLYOKE, Mass---This year's Morgan Classic players and coaches' clinic
will take place on February 14 from 9am to 2:30pm. It will take place in
Blake Arena at Springfield College in Springfield MA. The Coaches clinic
will be conducted by three-time Western Mass champion coach Sean
MacDonald. Player's clinic will be taught by all four Morgan Classic
teams George Mason University, St Francis University in Pennsylvania,
University of California San Diego and Springfield College.

Springfield College Men's Volleyball Coach Charlie Sullivan said the
Morgan Classic is where "players get to learn from the best players and
coaches in the country on training, team technique and strategy".

"It is always great to see an enthusiast group of volleyball players
from the New England Region," he said.

The Players Clinic will focus on skills such as serving, passing,
setting, attacking, blocking and defense. At the end their will be some
wash drills and mini games. Players will be able to work individually
with all four teams' players and coaches

In the Coaches clinic it will focus on the starting rotations for
success, winning the deuce games, positional training and skill
technique. Sean MacDonald has been the coach at Frontier since 2003 and
has won three Western Mass Championships, four League Championships and
two Division III State Championships. He has also coached the Bay states
where he won two gold medals, one silver and bronze. Sean also coaches
Junior Olympics and his team finished 2nd out of 90 teams in the New
England region.

The Morgan Classic will be played on February 13th and 14th. Games begin
at 6pm and 8pm in Blake Arena at Springfield College. On February 13 at
6pm UC San Diego faces St Francis University and at 8 pm George Mason
plays Division III National Champs Springfield College. Saturday
February 14th at 6 pm will be the consolation game and at 8pm the
Championship Match. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students.
